Wtf? Somehow I have a hard time to believe they'd be able to fiddle around with the rights like that. It sounds insane.

And what about poor mans copyright, for example? There's always been sneaky ways to get around the whole having to register for copyright, are they just gonna illegalize those? Why haven't I heard of this before, and so on.

Yeah, heard about this from another artist too, where the suggestion in itself was linked ( [link] ) it opens as a .pdf tho so if your computer is slow or don't like Acrobat Reader it might get a bit bitchy. The worst part is from what I can understand it sounds almost like "Well, the art is an orphan if no one can track it back to the artist. If you've tried to track the artist and can't, it's okay to use it"

I don't really know how much it'd affect us here in Sweden if it went trough, but I sure as hell hope it wont go trough in America.

That article has been proven to be wildly inaccurate. There's an accurate one floating around somewhere.

It's not going to pass, guys. A legislation that infringes on the rights of hundreds of thousands of artists, film makers, song writers, whatever is not going to be passed in a country that GUARANTEES your rights at birth.

Honestly, I don't think this thing will make it past congress. Sign the Deviantart petition if you like, it couldn't hurt, but don't expect such a silly legislation to make it.
